Drive a drum bus into the reel-to-reel, then back off until the snare keeps its crack. Explore 50 machine profiles for different amounts of saturation and high-frequency loss.

Choose from 50 cassette profiles inspired by decks from the ’80s and ’90s. Start at Cold for a lighter touch or move toward Inferno to hear more harmonic distortion.

Shape the tone with program EQ, add bus compression and control peaks with HQ limiting.

02 / 03 · Rhythm and dynamics

Play twelve effects or sequence them on a 16-step grid. Drag notes to lengthen, shorten or merge effects. Choose straight, triplet, quintuplet or dotted timing. Patterns follow your host and save with your session.

Use Dust to bring a drum loop forward, Wobble for pitch movement and Grit for crunch. The Classic panel shows gain reduction as you work. Blend the dry drums back in with Mix.

Set slow wow against faster flutter to make a held chord wander. Add hiss, dropouts or the snag of a worn tape transport.

03 / 03 · Digital colour and space

Ride the Wow fader for a slow pitch drift. Bring in noise and compression, then use Blend to keep the original sample underneath.

Thin out frequency bands, repeat little packets of audio or freeze a spectral frame. On a vocal tail, the last syllable can hang in place while the next drum hit passes underneath.

Shape the stereo field with Stereo Width and Dimension Width. Use Mono Compatibility as you widen a layer, then dial in Noise for texture.
